New Zealand-based There are a large number of retailers in the US who import sheepskin slippers from China, Australia and New Zealand. They have to purchase by the container load well before the peak season begins. It is impossible for them to accurately predict the quantities required of each size. These US outlets can easily run out of popular sizes mid season and be left with others at the end of the peak period. This adds to their costs and has to be factored in to the price. Alternatively the US outlets purchase from a middle man/distributor which again adds to costs. Kiwi Sheepskins on the other hand being conveniently based in New Zealand has extensive stocks but can easily top these up by purchasing direct from the manufacturers on a daily basis. Stock levels can be adjusted with demand thus keeping costs down. Our large volume purchasing direct from the New Zealand factories allows us to keep purchase costs down whilst remaining in control of stock numbers. Export specialists Nearly 99% of our customers are overseas. These are mainly in UK/Europe, USA, Canada and Australia. We have developed an extremely efficient order processing and dispatch system that is significantly automated to reduce staff costs. Air Mail costs are reduced due to our worldwide volume posting. So much so we include international Air Mail postage and insurance in our international prices! Being conveniently located in Auckland, the average postal time is reduced. Our parcels go directly to the International Mail Centre at Auckland Airport and can arrive at their destination country within a day or two then delivered a few days later. Many of our customers in the US and UK have reported receiving their order in just 3 working days from half way round the world! Family business The business is 100% owned and operated by our family.
